A PROUD AND EMOTIONAL CELEBRATION OF APRIL 30 & MAY 1 AT PEACE SQUARE – CITYLAND PARK HILLS RESIDENTIAL AREA
At 7:30 PM on April 30, 2023, the People’s Committee of Go Vap District, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Performing Arts and Cinema (Saigon Concert), organized an art performance program to celebrate two significant milestones: the 48th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 – April 30, 2023) and the 137th International Workers’ Day (May 1, 1886 – May 1, 2023). The event took place at Peace Square (CityLand Park Hills Residential Area – Ward 10 – Go Vap District – Ho Chi Minh City).
The program featured performances by renowned singers such as Nguyễn Phi Hùng, Lưu Hiền Trinh, Đỗ Tùng Lâm, Dương Quốc Hưng, Đoàn Đại Hòa, Cẩm Loan, and Thiên Phú; music groups Mắt Ngọc and Lạc Việt; circus artists Thanh Hoa – Hiền Phước; the REX dance troupe; and was hosted by MC Nhật Trường.
This was a major cultural and artistic event held at one of the most spacious, modern, and visually striking venues in Go Vap District — the Peace Square at CityLand Park Hills.
The victory of April 30, 1975, marks a glorious chapter and a shining milestone in Vietnam’s long history of national defense and nation-building.
To achieve this final triumph, the entire Party and military had to endure a long and arduous resistance, fighting off colonialists and imperialists to reclaim independence and freedom for the nation. It came at the cost of immense sacrifice — countless soldiers and citizens laid down their lives during the years the country was divided.

The program resonated with the heroic spirit of April — a historic month that marked Vietnam’s great national triumph in the Spring of 1975. The resounding victory of the Ho Chi Minh Campaign liberated the South and reunified the country, echoing across the globe.
The performances honored the immortal sacrifices of heroes, martyrs, and countless compatriots who gave their lives for the independence and freedom of the nation, for the happiness of the people. Go Vap itself, once a fierce and unyielding frontline in the northern gateway of Saigon, holds a deeply significant place in that struggle.
Audiences from across Go Vap District attended the event with a profound sense of pride in their hearts — pride in a nation of indomitable spirit. That pride fuels a collective determination to contribute to the continued development of the country, of Ho Chi Minh City, and of a more civilized, prosperous, and compassionate Go Vap.

The program created a joyful and uplifting atmosphere in celebration of the nation’s major holidays. It served as a meaningful source of encouragement and motivation for people across Go Vap District to actively strive toward fulfilling the 2023 socio-economic development goals.
